Five Black Jet Desserts To Be Thankful For

Black Jet Baking Co. opened it’s door on March 29th this year in the old Pinkie’s Bakery location (833 Cortland Avenue). But you may not know the hidden gems that lurk inside.

We have one word.

PIES

Gillian Shaw Lungren is not new to the neighborhood. She and Head Baker, Max Newman met while working at the old Liberty Cafe. That’s where they honed their skills for the flaky and tasty pie crust that’s a specialty this holiday season. It’ll take you right back to your childhood. At The Liberty, they worked their magic with croissants, bread, pies, and cakes.

If you need something special for your Thanksgiving table this is the perfect excuse to head over. Max, Gillian and their team will be baking over 1000 pies this week.

Special holiday hours for the last minute pick up’s are:

Wednesday 11/22 7 am – 7 pm

Thursday, T-Day 11/23 7 am – 11 am

We did a roundup of their top tier Thanksgiving desserts.

Chocolate Pecan Pie: Made with bittersweet chocolate to offset the yummy sweetness of the pecans.

Banana Cream Pie and Coconut Cream Pie

The Classic Pumpkin Pie

A variety of mini cupcakes including:

Coconut, Pumpkin, Old Fashioned Chocolate, German Chocolate and their special “Birthday Cupcake” which is the classic old-fashioned yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

And a variety of more traditional favorites…
